The European Union may suspend the visa-free travel regime with Georgia. Brussels is pushing this decision after Georgia adopted the scandalous law on foreign agents, the EU ambassador said.
The EU is considering the possibility of temporarily suspending the visa-free regime with Georgia due to the Foreign agents bill, which has caused a wide resonance both within the country and at the international level, EU Ambassador Pavel Gerchinsky warns.
“The decision to liberalize the visa regime was made on certain conditions, now we need to check whether they are being observed,”
– Pavel Gerchinsky said.
The diplomat clarified that a decision on the temporary resumption of the visa regime can be made if it is supported by half plus one of the EU members.
