South Ossetia wants independence of Alanian Diocese

"I think our church should be independent. In the world there are five independent churches, they are completely independent and not subject to anyone, and this does not prevent them from cooperating with other churches. In addition, Alanya was one of the first states to adopt Christianity" – presidential representative on Religion of South Ossetia, Sonya Hubaeva said.
Earlier, the head of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, said that the country intends to seek spiritual union with the Russian Orthodox Church.
