Russia and Iran agree on text of new cooperation agreement
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe text of the new agreement on comprehensive cooperation between Russia and Iran has been fully agreed. The Russian Foreign Minister spoke about this on June 11, speaking at a press conference after the BRICS Ministerial Council.
"Yes, while it (the agreement - the editor's note) cannot yet be signed, although the text has been fully agreed upon, a number of procedural and legislative steps on matters already covered by the treaty need to be taken by Iran before the treaty can be submitted for presidential approval and signature",
Sergey Lavrov said.
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic had not yet implemented these actions.
At the same time, the minister clarified that during the meeting with the acting head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the Russian side's commitment to this document was confirmed.
The Foreign Minister noted that this agreement would help bring relations between the two countries to a qualitatively different level.
