Secretary General: CSTO waiting for official decision from Armenia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAccording to the statement of CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, Armenia must officially decide whether to withdraw or continue its membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO states has been held in Kazakhstan. The Armenian side ignored the Ministerial Council once again. According to statements by the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, Yerevan has "frozen" its participation in the CSTO. Armenia also refused to make contributions to the organization's budget.
"I think that the political leadership of Armenia will still clarify the situation, and there will be an official decision whether to be part of the organization or not to be",
the CSTO Secretary General said.
Currently, Armenia remains a member of the organization, all obligations to it are being fulfilled, Tasmagambetov noted.
"Armenia remains our ally in the CSTO, and all our obligations to Armenia remain. But the issue of membership in the organization is the country's sovereign right and decision",
the CSTO Secretary General said.
