Portugal beat Slovenia in a Euro 2024 shootout

Portugal beat Slovenia on penalties in the UEFA Euro 2024 round of 16 tie in Frankfurt and will play France in the last eight. 

Goalkeeper Diogo Costa was the Portuguese hero, saving all three spot kicks he faced.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a tough day, missing a number of shot attempts, including a penalty kick that was saved by Slovenia's Jan Oblak in extra time. 

Portugal will now face France in the quarterfinals on July 5.
