Azerbaijan and NATO discuss military cooperation
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaOn July 2, the Deputy Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff of Azerbaijan and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the NATO Joint Forces Command had a meeting in Baku. This is stated on the website of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.
The central topic of negotiations between Karim Valiyev and Stefan Fix was military cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO. It was noted that relations were currently at a high level.
"It was emphasized with confidence that cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO would continue to be mutually beneficial and that fruitful meetings will continue too. Colonel General K. Veliyev especially noted the NATO's significant contribution to the training of units of the Azerbaijan Army within the framework of the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept",

For his part, the NATO representative stated the importance of further developing ties with Baku. In addition to this, the professionalism of Azerbaijani military personnel in peacekeeping missions and other areas of cooperation with NATO was highly appreciated.
The parties also discussed other topics of mutual interest.
