Azerbaijan, China become strategic partners

Azerbaijan and China adopted a joint declaration on strategic partnership. Beijing strongly supports Baku's peace agenda.
In Astana, within the framework of the SCO summit, a declaration was adopted on the establishment of a strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, the text of which was published on the website of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The event was attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
It states that terrorism, separatism and extremism pose a serious threat to the international community and require joint efforts to prevent and counter challenges.
The document also reads that Baku and Beijing will continue to provide strong support to each other along the path of development chosen in accordance with their national characteristics.
The countries agreed to cooperate to achieve common development and prosperity, maintain close relations on key issues, and strengthen trust.
In addition, China and Azerbaijan stated that they will not allow third forces to use their territory to carry out actions against the other side.
