In the southern regions of Georgia, two earthquakes were registered at night. Their magnitude was 4 and 3.5, respectively, and their hypocenter located at a depth of ten kilometers.

"The hypocenters of the earthquakes that occurred on July 7 at 22:05 and 22:16 Tbilisi time were at a depth of 10 kilometers. Epicenters were recorded near the village of Sameba",

the National Center for Seismic Monitoring said.

There is no information about casualties or destruction.

Earthquakes are a phenomenon caused by shifting tectonic plates in the Earth's crust. Several tectonic plates converge in Georgia, making the region prone to earthquakes. In addition to this, the presence of geological faults increases the likelihood of seismic events.
