The former deputy head of the Foreign Ministry will soon become the new head of the department. His candidacy is supported by political advisers to the newly elected president of the country.
The new head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry will become Abbas Araghchi, who previously held the position of deputy head of the department, sources close to Masoud Pezeshkian report.
According to them, political consultants to the newly elected president of the country are in favor of the appointment of Araghchi, who, they believe, is more suitable for this position than others.
It is expected that his candidacy will be submitted to parliament for consideration in the near future, Tasnim agency informs.
Sources note that Araghchi is already serving as a presidential adviser on foreign policy issues. In particular, he advised him during recent telephone conversations with leaders of other states.
