Turkish terrorism control official resigns

The head of the terrorism control section of the Main Security
Department of Turkey, Yuksel Babal, has resigned after the recent
terrorist attacks that killed 8, Trend reports.

A mine exploded in the Chukurudzha district of Khakkari. Seven
servicemen and a battalion commander died. 11 were injured.

Preliminary information says that the blast was organized by the
Kurdistan Worker's Party. A terrorist attack happened this morning.
One serviceman died and one was injured.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that a counter-terrorism operation
will start before Ramadan ends.
