Iran sends protest note to Azerbaijan

Iran has responded to the Azerbaijani protest note against statements
by the Iranian Commander of the General Staff, General Brigadier Seyid
Hasan Firuzabadi, the first secretary of the press-service of the
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said, Trend reports.

The protest note was handed to Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan
Mamedbagir Bahrami. The document was handed by Azerbaijani Deputy
Foreign Minister Nadir Guseynov.

The note says that publication of statements against Azerbaijan and
its people that violate its national interests and security and
perverts the image of the internal and foreign policy of the country
contradicts friendly ties.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry warned about further measures to be
taken unless aspersions stop.
