Exit-poll: New Azerbaijan Party secures majority of seats in Milli Majlis

Oracle Advisory Group has announced the first exit-poll results for the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.

The New Azerbaijan Party is expected to secure 64 out of 125 seats (51.2%) in the parliamentary election, according to the company.

The independent candidates will account for 34.4% of the seats in parliament.

Representatives of opposition parties are expected to secure13 seats (10.4%).

Oracle Advisory Group representative George Birnbaum said that they saw an enormous amount of support for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his policies.

"In the pre-election survey, the President's efforts to keep Azerbaijan safe from terrorism and outside influences, along with territorial victories in Karabakh that restored the country's territorial integrity, were highly motivating factors for the people of Azerbaijan," George Birnbaum said.
