National Transitional Council starts operating in Tripoli

started work in Tripoli this morning, Minister for Oil and Industry
Ali Tarkhuni said, Reuters reports.
This means that Libya will now be governed from Tripoli and not Benghazi.
The location of Muammar Gaddafi is still unknown.
The contact group for Libya consists of 28 states and a set of
international organizations. A meeting was held with the NTC in
Istanbul on Thursday. Financial support for the new authorities in
Libya was promised. The US unfroze $1.5 billion of Libyan accounts.
The US State Department said that uranium and chemical materials used
by Gaddafi's regime is under control.
