Kazakhstan to host summit of Turkic-language states in October

The Kazah city of Alma-Ata will host a summit of heads of Turkic
states on October 20-12, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Serik
Primbetov said, Trend reports.


Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will visit the Kazakh capital
Astana to take part in the summit and sign a set of bilateral deals
with Kazakhstan.


Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have common positions in international and
regional affairs, economics, socio-humanitarian sphere, the ambassador
said.


Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Baku in October 2009 and
took part in the summit of Turkic states in Nakhchyvan. He noted the
significance of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani inter-governmental commission
for economic cooperation.


The commission will hold a session in Baku on September 29-30 to
discuss deals that will be during the visit of Aliyev to Kazakhstan.
The ambassador reminded that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have a trade
turnover of $111 million.
