Turkey increases exports

Turkey continues to increase exports, its trade turnover increased by
24.2% in July, amounting to $11.875 billion, TRT reports.


Imports in July increased by 29.9%, amounting to $20.889 billion. The
foreign trade deficit increased from $6.514 billion to $9.014 billion.
Most exports go to Germany. Russia is the main importer into Turkey.


Turkish Transport Minister Binali Yildirim was establishing contacts
in Jalova. He said that Turkey is the world's sixth largest
shipbuilder, compared to its 23rd place in 2003-2008.


Commenting on construction of the Istanbul-Izmir highway that started
in February 2011, Yildirim said that Cape Hersek and Orkhangazi will
have 9 viaducts and 2 tunnels 3.5 km long. It will run to Bursa
through Balysekir and Manisa to Izmir.


Construction of the bridge over the Gulf of Izmir will start in early
2012. The bridge will be 3,000 meters long and will become the second
largest in the world. It will cost 11 billion liras.
