Baku holds International carpet festival

The International Carpet Festival will start in the Azerbaijani capital on May 2. The event will run until May 4 in the Icherisheher Reserve.
The program includes the International Carpet Forum, which will be held on May 2 with the participation of designers and manufacturers. On May 3-May 4, visitors can enjoy carpet exhibitions, master classes, and vibrant theatrical performances. National pavilions of the countries participating in the festival will also be open in Icherisheher, where you can get acquainted with various carpet weaving traditions. Festival guests will have the chance to meet and communicate with 28 weavers from "Azerkhalcha" representing different regions of Azerbaijan.
The festival aims to popularize the Azerbaijani carpet weaving art on a global scale, showcasing its rich heritage and prospects. The festival also provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and skills with world masters of carpet weaving.
The event is organized by the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve Department and Azerkhalcha OJSC with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).
The festival is being held in the year of the 25th anniversary of the inclusion of Icherisheher in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the 15th anniversary of the inclusion of the traditional art of carpet weaving of Azerbaijan in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
