Armenian police work to be monitored

The chief of the Armenian police, Alik Sarkisyan, said he approves the idea of organizing an inspection aimed at controlling the work of the country's police, Novosti-Armenia reports.

The head of the Armenian traffic police, Colonel Markar Oganyan, was recently detained after being accused of abuse of power and embezzlement, the news agency informs.

According to Sarkisyan, inspections in such circumstances are necessary.
