Azerbaijan, Russia to reconstruct bridge over Samur River

Azerbaijan and Russia have agreed on joint reconstruction of a bridge over trans-boundary Samur River, Trend cites the head of economics and transport policy department of the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan Sadraddin Mammadov as saying.

"After long negotiations, an agreement has been reached to finance the construction of the bridge on a parity basis," said Mammadov.

According to Mammadov, the statement by the deputy head of the Federal Agency for Development of the State Border of Russia Boris Khaytovich that a bridge not belonging to any side has been found on the border between Russia and Azerbaijan is not true.

"This is a bridge over the Samur River, which is in poor condition, but is not inactive," Mammadov said.
