Iran offers IAEA nuclear deal
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTehran will give the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) access
to its nuclear program for five years in exchange for the lifting of
sanctions, head of the Organization of Nuclear Energy of Iran,
Fereydun Abbasi-Davani, said, RIA Novosti reports.
The statement was made on Monday after the IAEA urged Iran to allow
its inspectors to visit its nuclear facilities.
The IAEA said in late August that Iran has 70.8 kg of uranium enriched
to 20%, exceeding the quantity in May by 14.1 kg. Iran continues
increasing production of enriched uranium, despite the resolution of
the UN Security Council, a report of the IAEA said on Friday.
Inspectors are to visit all Iranian nuclear facilities, including the
new one in Kum.
The USA and other Western states accuse Iran of developing nuclear
arms on the background of peaceful research. Tehran denies all
accusations and insists that the program is aimed at meeting the
civilian demand for electricity.
The UN Security Council passed the fourth resolution in June 2010 due
to Tehran's refusal to fulfill international obligations and refusal
to answer questions of the IAEA, including the program's military
aspect.
