Turkey launches patrols of Eastern Mediterranean

Turkey has launched patrols of the Eastern Mediterranean and frozen trade with Israel in the military sphere, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan said, Reuters reports.

Turkey has military bases in Aksaz and Iskenderun on the south coast.

According to Erdogan, Turkey is preparing more sanctions against Israel.

A representative of the Israeli government commented on the statements: “Israel doesn’t want worsening relations with Turkey.”
