Israel says Azerbaijan to replace Turkey

Israeli economists believe that Azerbaijan can replace the economic
ties with Turkey if the crisis in their relations deepens.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Trade Chamber noted that Israel
and Azerbaijan have been developing relations at a great pace. Israel
is a major exporter of weapons, oil and food technology to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan exports products worth millions of dollars to Israel.

Israel doubts that Azerbaijan can replace Turkey in terms of tourism.
Turkish resorts are very popular in Israel. Greece and Bulgaria will
probably be the main places for tourism.

Azerbaijan will export food to Israel, as well as chemical,
petrochemical and household products.

More passengers are expected to use the Tel-Aviv – Baku flight
service. Israeli businessmen and tourists were usually flying via
Istanbul to Southern and Central Asia.

Jerusalem does not hide its intensions of improving cooperation with
Baku and hopes that Azerbaijan will have its own policy, independent
of Turkey.
