Construction of Kars-Nakhchivan railway to begin on August 22

The construction of the railway, which will connect Türkiye with Nakhchivan, will begin on August 22. The official ceremony launching the railway project will take place in Iğdır, Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced.

The railway will form part of the Zangezur corridor, enhancing logistics in eastern Türkiye and holding significant geostrategic importance.

About 2.4 billion euros will be allocated for the implementation of the project. The length of the route will be 224 km.
