According to the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexey Chepa, friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan will be restored over time despite current complications.

The politician also noted that cooperation is much more economically beneficial for both countries than hostility, making improved relations essential, pravda.ru reports.

"The prospects for developing friendly relations and economic interests are enormous. Warming is inevitable – it is only a matter of time. The situation is difficult, but the issues will be gradually resolved",

Alexey Chepa said.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk noted Moscow's efforts to improve relations through intergovernmental commissions, adding that the Azerbaijani side is also interested in establishing cooperation.
