NATO officials: EUROPRO is not a threat to Russia’s nuclear potential

The EUROPRO missile defense system will pose no threat to Russia's
nuclear potential, ITAR-TASS reports NATO Deputy General Secretary
Dirk Brengelmann announcing today in Moscow. "We are aware of Russia's
concerns about missile defense," he said."The system poses no threat
to Russia's nuclear potential."

The representative of the alliance made it clear that the organization
is not ready to give a legal guarantee of the system not being
directed against Russia. "I speak only of policy statements, which
will then be transferred onto paper,” Brengelmann said.
