Police station attacked in western Türkiye

A 16-year-old has been arrested over the killing of two officers in a gun attack on a police station in the western Turkish city of Izmir on Monday, the Turkish interior ministry said.

Six people were injured in the attack at the Salih Isgoren police station in the Balcova district.

The assailant wielding a pump-action shotgun has been taken into custody. Extensive security measures have been implemented in the area.
