Israel attacks Hamas leadership in Doha

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) attacked high-ranking Hamas officials, the army press service said.

"The IDF and ISA conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization," the statement reads.

The IDF said that the members of the leadership "who were attacked led the terrorist organization’s activities for years", and are directly responsible for carrying out the October 7 attack and waging the war against Israel.

The army noted that "prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence."

According to Al Jazeera, the attack in Doha targeted the Hamas negotiating team. A Hamas source said the attack came as the negotiators were meeting to consider the latest ceasefire proposal put forth by the U.S.
