Iran's National Security Council approves resumption of cooperation with IAEA
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran approved the agreement on cooperation with the IAEA, signed on September 9 in Cairo by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the Director General of the agency Rafael Grossi.
According to the SNSC, the text of the agreement was reviewed by a specialized committee authorized to make decisions on the council's behalf. The document states that the implementation of the agreement will depend on ensuring the security of the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities.
The council also warns that in the event of new strikes on nuclear facilities or the resumption of international sanctions by the UN Security Council, the agreement will be suspended.
The council also warned that the agreement would be suspended in response to any new attacks on nuclear facilities or the reinstatement of UN Security Council sanctions.
The suspension came after Israeli Air Force strikes against military and nuclear facilities in Iran during June 12-13, which prompted Iranian retaliation within 24 hours. A week later, the USA attacked Iranian nuclear facilities, and a few days later, Iran and Israel agreed to a truce.
