Group suspected of oil theft detained in Dagestan

The FSB of Dagestan has detained a group of people suspected of
stealing oil from the Grozny-Baku pipeline and found an illegal oil
terminal, RIA Novosti reports.

A 6-kilometer pipe was attached to the pipeline at the Pervomayskoye
Village of Kayakent District, on the 279th km, on September 9. An
illegal oil terminal with 8 containers with a total of 240 tons was
found.

A truck driver attempted to escape but was caught. He had 40 tons of
oil. 9 people were detained, 8 of them arrested.

A criminal case was initiated for theft. The suspects may be sentenced
to 6 years of prison.
