FMs of 25 countries call on Israel to open medical corridor from Gaza

The foreign ministers of 25 countries have called on Israel to open a medical corridor from Gaza. European Commissioner for Crisis Preparedness and Response Aja Labib has also joined the call.

"We strongly appeal to  Israel to restore the medical corridor to the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, so that medical evacuations from Gaza can resume and patients can receive much-needed treatment in Palestinian territory",

the statement reads.

The signatory countries have committed to supporting the corridor through financial contributions, medical equipment, and personnel deployment to treat patients in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The statement also calls for the removal of restrictions on the delivery of medicines and medical supplies to Gaza.

The appeal was signed by the foreign ministers of Austria, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Croatia, Switzerland, and Sweden.
