Meeting of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors starts in Paris
The eleventh meeting of the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors has started in
the Paris headquarters of the international organization, ITAR-TASS
reports.

Goodwill Ambassadors are now represented by experts ib about 40
different fields. Among the ambassadors are the First Lady of
Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban
Aliyeva, French astronaut Patrick Baudry, president of the World
Association of Russian Press and General Director of ITAR-TASS Vitaly
Ignatenko, Indian writer Madanzhit Singh, Nobel Peace Prize winner
Nelson Mandela and other prominent public figures spreading the ideas
of the organisation worldwide.

UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova personally thanked UNESCO
Goodwill Ambassador, the first lady of Azerbaijan, Mrs Aliyeva and the
Heydar Aliyev Foundation for financial assistance in the aftermath of
the Haiti earthquake which occurred on January 12, 2010.
