Putin and Netanyahu hold telephone conversation

According to the Kremlin press service, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation on October 6.

The two leaders addressed the current situation in the Middle East and US President Donald Trump's Gaza settlement proposal.

"Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Russia's unwavering position in favor of a comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue on a well-knowm international legal basis",

the Kremlin stated.

The discussion also covered Iran's nuclear program and the stabilization of the situation in Syria, with both sides expressing commitment to negotiated solutions.

During the conversation, which took place on the eve of the Russian president's birthday, the Israeli Prime Minister also expressed his best wishes.

Vladimir Putin, in turn, congratulated Netanyahu and the entire Israeli people on the holiday of Sukkot.
