By the end of this year Georgia will initiate negotiations with the EU on concluding a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, the Georgian Ambassador to the EU, Salome Samadashvili, announced today, Business Georgia reports.

"And by next year our main goal will be to initiate a dialogue with the EU on a visa-free regime," Salome Samadashvili said. A visa agreement between Georgia and the EU, which simplified the procedure for obtaining visas for certain categories of Georgian citizens, came into force in March 2011.
