Pashinyan and Rahmon discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process

As part of the CIS summit, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting in Dushanbe. According to the Armenian Prime Minister's press service, Pashinyan briefed his counterpart on the progress in normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku.

"The opportunities created by the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and strengthening the atmosphere of cooperation in the region were discussed",

the press service reported.

President Rahmon expressed Tajikistan's support for efforts to improve Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and highlighted the significance of the agreement initialed in Washington.

The peace settlement agreement was initialed in Washington on August 8, 2025, by Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan, who also signed a declaration with US President Donald Trump. The agreement includes provisions for implementing the Zangezur Corridor project.
