Syrian President to visit Moscow

Syria's transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa will arrive in Moscow on October 15, according to Syrian media reports citing informed sources.

Al-Sharaa assumed Syria's presidency during the transitional period in January, following the departure of former President Bashar al-Assad.

Let us recall that in November 2024, the armed forces of the Syrian opposition launched a large-scale offensive against the positions of the Syrian army. In December they entered Damascus, forcing Assad to resign as president and leave the country.
