Armenian PM meets OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Finland’s FM Elina Valtonen in Yerevan.

During the meeting, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of effective cooperation with the OSCE, noting that active dialogue has been established over the past years, according to a readout by the PMr’s Office.

The Armenian PM highlighted the necessity of strengthening the OSCE’s role to ensure security and stability within the organization’s area of responsibility.

"Elina Valtonen congratulated on the occasion of the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that it will significantly contribute to building a stable future for Armenia and fostering cooperation in the region," the statement reads.

The Armenian PM and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office discussed the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the continuation of the border delimitation process, and issues related to regional developments. Views were also exchanged regarding the development of Armenia-EU relations.

"Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the EU’s consistent support in strengthening democracy and advancing reforms, highlighting that the introduction of EU standards across various sectors is a top priority for the Armenian government. In this context, issues related to reforms in combating corruption, developing civil society, improving the business environment, and other areas were discussed," the statement reads.

Pashinyan and Valtonen also addressed matters concerning the further development of relations between Armenia and Finland.
