Pakistan declares readiness for talks with Afghanistan

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif confirmed Islamabad's readiness for dialogue with Kabul, according to Dawn media reports.

"Yesterday, we decided on a temporary ceasefire for 48 hours and and clarified our position - if they wish to meet our reasonable conditions through negotiations, we are prepared. The ball is in their court",

Shehbaz Sharif said.

Military clashes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region commenced overnight Tuesday-Wednesday, with both nations agreeing to a 48-hour ceasefire by Wednesday afternoon according to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry.
