Armenia ready to apply for EU membership in 2026

The Armenian Foreign Minister confirmed the republic's authorities' commitment to EU membership. However, he did not specify when exactly the republic would submit the application.

Armenia may apply to join the European Union in 2026, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated.

However, he admitted that this could happen as early as next month.

The Foreign Minister recalled that the republic has adopted a law obliging the government to seek EU membership.

"I can't say exactly when we will submit the application. It could be next month, or maybe next year. It depends on many factors. But, as I already said, this is our official policy,”
