Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in a statement to the press with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana.

"I need to say that Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia, and the first such cargo transit was a shipment of Kazakh grain to Armenia," Ilham Aliyev said.

According to the head of state, it is also a good indicator of the fact that "peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia is already not only on paper but is also in practice".

Ilham Aliyev noted that a new era of peace has begun between Baku and Yerevan. He noted that reaching the initialing of a peace agreement less than two years after the last military clashes demonstrates that both countries have shown a high level of political will.
