Sahiba Gafarova describes Geneva meeting with Armenian counterpart as constructive

 

During the plenary session on October 24, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova commented on the outcome of her bilateral meeting with Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan.

The speakers of the Azerbaijani and Armenian parliaments met during the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Geneva on October 21.

 

Gafarova noted that the meeting took place in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue.

"The importance of the agreements reached at the Washington summit and the measures taken to normalize relations was noted",

 Sahiba Gafarova reported.

 

In Geneva, Sahiba Gafarova and Alen Simonyan expressed their commitment to supporting confidence-building measures between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the parliamentary level.
