Illegal oil thefts at Grozny-Baku pipeline in Dagestan

The security service of Chernomortansneft and the police have revealed an illegal tie in the Grozny-Baku oil pipeline, Yuga.ru reports.

A member of the security services, Alexander Shelukh, said that a special operation on September 9 resulted in the arrests of 9 people suspected of oil theft. An illegal tie was found at the section of pipeline called “By-pass of the Chechen Republic”.

The illegal tie-in was 6 km long, located on the territory of a lumber camp near the village of Inchkhe in the Kayakent district. Preliminary information says the oil theft lasted for 4-5 days.
