UN Security Council delegation meets Syrian leader

A United Nations Security Council delegation arrived in Syria, where they met Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The delegation arrived via the Jdeidet Yabus border crossing between Lebanon and Syria and is scheduled to meet a number of Syrian officials, local media reported.

Shortly after that the delegation was visiting Damascus’s heavily damaged suburb of Jobar.

Yesterday, the UN General Assembly passed the resolution directing Israel to withdraw from the Golan Heights.
