Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Russia and Belarus soon, as announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei on December 7.
Baghaei stated that the Foreign Minister intends to hold high-level meetings with officials in both countries.
"Meetings with high-ranking officials of Russia and Belarus are also planned at the Foreign Ministry level in the coming weeks. Mr. Araghchi will visit these two countries",
Esmail Baghaei said.
Previous visit to Moscow
The Iranian Foreign Minister last visited the Russian capital in June. During that trip, he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with discussions primarily focused on the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
That visit occurred amid heightened regional conflict. On the night of June 12-13, the Israeli Air Force struck Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Iran responded within 24 hours. A week later, the USA launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. A ceasefire between Israel and Iran was agreed upon several days later.
