Today, a train carrying AI-95 gasoline produced at the Baku Oil Refinery will travel from Azerbaijan to Armenia via Georgia for the first time.

A freight train consisting of 22 railcars is filled with high-quality AI-95 gasoline produced by Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) at the Baku Oil Refinery for Armenia's needs.

It will depart for Armenia via Georgia today, in accordance with agreements reached during a meeting in Gabala between Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan on November 28.

For now, Azerbaijan’s export of oil products to Armenia is purely commercial in nature, and the gasoline will be sold at international market prices.

By decision of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Railways will conduct the transit of fuel from Azerbaijan to Armenia through Georgian territory free of charge this time.
