Iran appoints new Air Defense and Air Force Commanders

Alireza Elhami and Bahman Behmarda have been appointed as the new commanders of Iran's Air Defense and Air Force, as reported by local media on December 18.

According to the Mehr News Agency, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei signed two separate decrees to formalize the appointments.

Elhami and Behmarda officially assumed their posts today during a ceremony in Tehran attended by a number of senior military officials.
