Gold hits new all-time high

Gold set a new all-time high on Thursday, breaching the $4,400 per troy ounce mark for the first time, according to market data.

As of 19:17 Moscow time, February gold futures on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange traded at $4,402.85 per troy ounce, up $28.95 (0.66%) from the previous session's close.

The day before, the silver exchange price reached a record high. March futures for this precious metal rose above $67 per troy ounce.
