Former head of Volgodonsk police department arrested

Former head of Volgodonsk police department Yuri Marinenko has been arrested in Volgodonsk, Rostov Oblast. He is suspected of housing fraud.

The former head of Volgodonsk police department and former mayor, Marinenko, has been arrested by court order. The suspect is a defendant in a criminal case of large-scale fraud.

According to case materials, Marinenko, while head of an inter-district police department, provided false information about his financial situation, which allowed him to obtain low-income status. This enabled the suspect to receive a 2.5 mln ruble apartment from the state.
