Georgian law enforcement banned protest marches in Tbilisi until New Year's Eve. The ban will be in effect from December 21 to 31.
The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs suggested that activists choose an alternative way to express their position that will not compromise the safety of others, for instance, the steps of the parliament building and the surrounding area as the meeting location.
The request was reportedly made following an inquiry from activist Kakha Tsikarishvili, who was seeking approval for the protest.
