Pashinyan thanks Aliyev once again at EAEU Supreme Council meeting
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaArmenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held in St. Petersburg for his decision to unblock cargo transit to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
"I express my appreciation to the President of Azerbaijan for his decision to lift the blockade on the transit of goods through the territory of Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as for creating conditions for the start of bilateral trade," Pashinyan said.
He stressed the importance of further constructive changes in relations with Azerbaijan, noting that they could boost trade, improve logistics and enhance regional economic resilience. The PM noted that at this stage, it is important to ensure a clear separation between the areas of application of supranational mechanisms and those areas where national jurisdictions and sovereign decisions retain priority, which will ensure the stability of integration processes.
According to him, ensuring the smooth functioning of the internal market is one of the primary goals of integration. This implies the consistent elimination of barriers, the digitalization and simplification of regulatory procedures, as well as the creation of equal competitive conditions for all participants in the economic process, Pashinyan said.
