SOCAR to acquire power plant in Türkiye for $225 million

SOCAR is set to expand its asset portfolio with the acquisition of the Gama Enerji İç Anadolu power plant in Turkey. The deal is valued at around $225 million, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov announced.

The Prime Minister stated that the final agreement is expected to be signed on December 23 during a joint Azerbaijan-Türkiye investment forum, granting SOCAR 100% ownership of the plant.

 

The announcement follows recent comments from Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, who noted that Azerbaijani investments in Türkiye have surpassed $21 billion, with bilateral trade reaching $8 billion last year.
