Railway construction for Anaklia port to begin soon

Construction of railway lines for the future Anaklia deep-water port is set to begin in the near future, Lasha Abashidze, CEO of Georgian Railway, announced.

"We have decided to announce a tender soon and begin construction of the railway infrastructure for access to the Anaklia port",

Lasha Abashidze said.

He highlighted the project's scope, which includes constructing both the railway tracks and the necessary overhead electrification system.

Additionally, the company plans to build a freight terminal integrated with the port's operations.

 

Abashidze outlined the project's timeframe, stating that construction is expected to be completed within 2-2.5 years.
